(Pawleys Island, SC) Robert Dobbs was the clear winner of the Democratic First District debate in Pawleys Island Monday night. While his opponent reiterated his support for the Afghanistan war, Mr. Dobbs came out strongly for healthcare, not warfare.
Mr. Dobbs made it clear that his priority is helping the average person at home in the areas of jobs, education and healthcare. His opponent advocated a surtax to help pay for the wars. The topics of the debate ranged from the overseas wars to gang violence here at home. Mr. Dobbs' campaign slogan, "Working for You, Not Washington" emphasizes his advocacy for the people of the First District, rather than the wealthy corporations, banks and oil companies. It was obvious that he stood with the people rather than special interests.
Robert Dobbs, who is nationally endorsed by the Progressive Democrats of America, is a grassroots candidate who wants to be a citizens' representative in what he calls "the People's House."
