Congressional Candidate Robert Dobbs has filed with the SC Green Party for the 1st Congressional District Race
Georgetown, SC - Congressional candidate Robert Dobbs (SC-1, D) makes the following statement concerning his filing as a Green Party Candidate for Congress.
Robert Dobbs stated:
“Politicians in Washington went on Easter break without extending unemployment for millions of American families who hover on the brink of poverty. With this neglect, we see the true colors of the two party system and its contempt for Democracy.
Why are we not asking ourselves how we can expand middle-class, how can we keep Americans in their homes and not in foreclosure, and how can we create jobs that will support American families.
Most Americans today are one pink slip, one lapsed mortgage payment, one health diagnosis, or one car wreck away from destitution. That is why I have filed with the Green Party of South Carolina as their candidate for the 1st Congressional District. Someone has to represent the people and not the special interests. It is quite clear none of the major party candidates are willing to do this.
My message has not changed and I am still a Democrat, but I am also a Green and a Progressive. I believe in fighting for democracy here in the United States. I believe in peace instead of the endless wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I believe in the working people of American, not the corporations and special interests. I believe in the health and stewardship of our planet.”
Robert Dobbs, a veteran of the U.S. Army, is running for Congress in South Carolina’s First District.
