Congressional Candidate Robert Dobbs Will Attend Meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus if Elected to Congress

Georgetown, SC – Congressional Candidate Robert Dobbs responding to a question asked of the Republican opponent, Tim Scott, regarding membership to the Congressional Black Caucus.

Robert Dobbs stated, “I feel while I could not join the Congressional Black Caucus, my attending the meetings would be extremely important to my representation of all citizens of the 1st Congressional District. Approximately 42% of my constituency is African American and my involvement at any level with the Congressional Black Caucus would be important."

There are 41 members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus was formed in 1969 when the 13 black members of the U.S. House of Representatives came together, and the Caucus is officially non-partisan.

Robert Dobbs, a veteran of the U.S. Army, is running for Congress in South Carolina’s First District.
